I am the business.

As part of my efforts to diversify and decentralize my presence on the internet I administer a Mastodon server hosted in France by Masto.host.

I have been using Mastodon since leaving Twitter and Instagram many years ago. Over time, I went from lurking to fully participating, and I found communities of very cool people from all over the world.

Hosting a server costs time, money, and resources. The saying “if you’re not paying for a product, then you are the product” is more true today than it has ever been. I believe the future of the Fediverse lies in decentralizing away from large instances and toward smaller ones, supported by any amount of financial contribution.
